Their are many dance school is Austalia that are very good but these are ones that has had students travel across the world and get into very prestigious ballet companies. I have chosen two very good schools from Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland.

Sydney

Mosman Dance Academy

Mosman Dance Academy is one of the most prestegious dance schools in Sydney. They teach gentres such as jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, contemperary and They mainly focus on ballet. They have a part time programme for 10-13 years of age and a full time programme for dancers 14-18 years of age. The part time programme consists of going to train 2-3 days a week in the middle of the day then staying to do more training in the afternoon classes. The full time programme consists of doing online schooling and training everyday for 5 hours (not including self-training) to become a balllerina and get into a school overseas. MDA starts ballet at a very young age, they start preschool ballet at 2 years of age. MDA have certain levels you have to complete if you want to move up. This is the order of grades: Preschool, Pre-primary, Primary, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1, Advanced 2, Solo Seal.

Tanya Pearson Academy

Tanya Pearson Academy is a very big school it has over 25 people in each class. they have different genres such as jazz, contemperary, lyrical, PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) and overall ballet. TPA has a full time programme, a part time programme and a affiliate programme. The the full time program offers 4 levels of training: Classical Full Time Level 1/Cygnets (approximately 12-13yrs), Classical Full Time Level 2 (approximately 14-15yrs), Classical Full Time Level 3 (approximately 15-17yrs), Classical Pre-Professional (approximately 17-19yrs). The full time program usualy takes place at 9am and finishes at 4pm with lots of breaks inbetween.

Melbourne

Australian Ballet School

The Australian Ballet School is the most well known ballet training centre in Australia. After a student completes 8 eight level programmes they aim to produce graduates of the highest calibre who are capable of integrating effortlessly into The Australian Ballet on of the top professional dance companies in Australia and around the world. Students may begin the Full-Time Programme from the age of 13/14 years of age, or when they study year 8 or 9 at high school. Students usually complete the Full-Time Programme by the time they are 20 years of age. During this time, students work towards the achievement of their Victorian Certificate of Education, the Diploma of Dance, the Advanced Diploma of Dance and the Graduate Diploma of Classical Ballet. The Full-Time Programme begins their day at 8.30am Mondays – Saturdays, concluding in the late afternoon on weekdays and by midday on Saturdays. There is one male and one female class per level. Full-time Training incorporates both academic / theoretical and dance studies. Full-Time training usually starts at level 4. The Intra/Interstate & International Training Programme is a sector of The Australian Ballet School providing training opportunities at Levels 1-3* (approximately 9-13 years). This is where dancers audition at a young age to get into the ITP programme and once a year they go to the studios in Melbourne and train with the ABS to get a deeper understanding of what it would be like at ABS.

Ballet Theatre Australia

The Ballet Theatre Australia is a professional ballet school based in the heart of Melbourne. BTA offers classical dance for juniors and seniors, full-time and part-time students; including ballet training to professional level, ballet assessments, dance performances, floor barre, classical class, pointe, pas de deux, character and contemporary. two full-time programs. The Junior Full-Time Program for ages 12-16 years focuses on developing and nurturing the individual within a serious but encouraging environment, aiming to give each individual student a strong and refined classical technique. Once the dancers have this refined technique they move onto the Pre- Professional Full-Time program. The Pre-Professional Program (for students aged 17 to 21 years) focuses on extending upon the individuals artistry whilst continuing and further refining a level of technical excellence preparing the student to enter directly into a career in a professional ballet company. Students are given a variety of real and challenging performance opportunities as well as the prospect of private coaching for national and international ballet competitions.

Queensland Ballet Academy

Queensland Ballet Academy is a world-class ballet training organisation. We offer a comprehensive industry-aligned, professional career pathway producing young dancers whose talents and abilities are in demand throughout Australia and internationally. QBA offers dance training for juniors, seniors, and dancers who want this as a career. Their first programme is called Jette Parker Young Artist Program. The annual Program enables a small group of young dancers from around the world to join Queensland \Ballet to refine their technique, access performance opportunities and enjoy elite mentoring. The dancers have opportunities to perform alongside Principals, as part of the Company ensemble, and with guest artists from around the world. Next they have a pre-professional program and this is a full-time final year training program which provides students with the preparation and training they require before joining a professional ballet company. Finally they have an Academy Program the Academy Program allows students to simultaneously undertake face-to-face senior academic studies at Kelvin Grove State College in Years 10 - 12. From 2021, students from Years 7 - 12 will be welcome to join the Program. This is a professional program which consists of training in the mornings and academic classes each weekday afternoon, with further dance training on Saturdays. Covering all aspects of classical ballet including daily class, pas de deux, repertoire, pointe and male technique, the Academy Program also includes training in classical character dance, contemporary dance and body conditioning.
